long time no blog!

Well I'm still about, I've been distracted by life.

So much has been going on, where to start.... We'll start with the best news, a pregnancy! One of my most favourite people in the whole world had her dreams come true last week. After four long years LeFiesty is pregnant! It's such wonderful news, I'm so excited for her. She's having trouble believing it I think, although after the countless HPT's and two + blood tests it's got to be sinking in.

What's next? Ahh my boys! I'm actually in a state of denial at the moment when it comes to my little munchkins. My big boy Brock turns 5 in 8 days!! I cannot believe it, it seems like only yesterday that I first held him in my arms. These days I'm lucky if I get him to sit still long enough for a cuddle. He's been having a great time at kindy, learning all sorts of things.

Jack turned 5 months old this week! I don't know where the time has gone. It just doesn't seem like that long, but at the same time it feels like he's been with us forever. He's started solids. I was planning to hold of until he was 6 months old but for some reason, I decided to try him on some rice cereal about two weeks ago. He seems to be enjoying it. So far he's had rice cereal, apple, carrot and sweet potato. He absolutely loves the carrot and sweet potato. Next week we're going to try sweet corn.

I'm doing ok I guess, been struggling a bit with thoughts of my m/c lately. I'm not sure why, but I'm trying to push through them. Other than that I've been doing a bit of sewing lately. I discovered how to make my own BabyLegs style leg warmers. They turned out great and look even better on Jack. I've also started on a new nappy stash for Jack. He's outgrown his BB's so I decided to have a go at making them myself and it wasn't that hard actually. So it's going to save us even more money! I'm really seeing how much money we're wasting at the moment with having to buy sposies so often. I can't believe I'm a breastfeeding, cloth nappying mama LOL I would never have thought it. Well I hoped that BF would work out better this time, but could not see myself doing cloth nappies. I must admit though a strong reason for continuing to do both is the moeny factor, it's just so much cheaper. I love that I don't have to spend an extra $50 a week for nappies and formula! Maybe this point might benefit my argument for a third child......Hmmm will have to bring that up with the husband.

Any hoo, here's a couple of pics of my boys and my latest sewing achievements. Hopefully it won't be as long until my next blog post.

Here he is

Don't he look cute?

The boys had a lovely chat together lol

Clever Clogs

I've been sewing! I'd forgotten how much fun it was to make things this way. My darling husband bought me a new sewing machine for christmas last year. I was always borrowing mum's before that. This new machine is a beauty as Brock would say. It was fairly inexpensive and is a pretty standard simple machine but geez it's great for me.

I think I may have been biten by the bug. All of a sudden I've got several things half sewn and I keep thinking up more things to try. I have finished one project though and I have to say I'm pretty proud of myself because I made this set without a proper pattern. It's a matching shorts and singlet set for Master Jack.

Now I know the shorts look enormous compared to the singlet, but the singlet does stretch and the shorts are a bit bigger to accomodate Jack's fluffy bum. Cute though huh? Only cost about $6 for the supplies including the singlet!

I've got a nappy cover type set of pants in the pipline too which will be cute. I've almost finished a nappy wallet but I need more black cotton to finish it off properly.

It's been so much fun creating that I'm now surfing Etsy for some unique-ish patterns to buy and download. I need fast patterns so I can get the made while the master is sleeping. I love these little shoes but I don't really think there's be much point at present.

When he wakes up I'll have to try his new outfit on him and take a pic.

Madness

Have you ever noticed that when life is quiet it's really quiet but when things start to get moving again it feels like you've gone from 0 - 100 in 6 seconds? Well that's how my life at the moment. The first few weeks after Jack was born were comfortably boring, I spent each day feeding, changing, washing and sleeping. Now Jack seems to have settled in to life really well, I'm starting to do a bit more with my day.

I've done a little bit of sewing and a lot more of the graphic design type stuff. So what's an amateur graphic designer wannabe do to find new challenges? She opens up her own online store! Hilarious! I don't expect much will come of it but hey, you never know. Was thinking I might start a new blog for all my design goings on. But for now have to get the shop up and running.

Here's a latest photo of Jack, too cute for words.

Happy New Year

Ok so I'm a little late and a lot slack, but I hope everyone who reads had a good new year.

Update time. The boys are great. Jack is growing so fast, though everyone keeps telling me he's still so little which he is I guess. The little monkey hasn't cracked the 5kgs mark yet. He's keeping us all entertained with his gorgeous smiles and giggles, it's so cute. He also loves having a chat and will coo and gurgle at you as long as you keep up your end of the conversation, takes after his grandmother I think.

Brock is just as cheeky as ever, actually maybe even moreso. He's loving kindy and counts down how many sleeps until kindy day. Can't wait to get away from his mum it would seem. He went nuts over christmas and got way to much stuff and doesn't play with half of it. I've got to come up with cool presents for him for next year that don't involve another shit load of toys, he has enough already.

I've started sewing a little bit again. Just making little bits and pieces for Jack. Need to make a trip to Spotlight to find some more fabrics though. Now that I've started I keep finding more things I want to make, baby shoes being the latest. Will have to post some pics when I remember to get new batteries for the camera.

But for now here's a few of the latest pics of my littlest guy, the big one won't stand still long enough any more.

Tis the Season

Well it's that time of year again. Our xmas is set to be a very quiet one, just us and the boys.

2007 has been quite a year for me, plenty of highs and lots of lows. It will be interesting to see what's in store for 2008.

Next week won't be easy, it's the first anniversary of losing our little angel. It seems silly sometimes that I only carried Eden for 10 weeks yet I think about her everday. I want to do something special just not sure what. No doubt noone else will remember including my husband, but I guess that's ok as long as I do then she's not forgotten.

One a lighter note, I knocked up a quick digicard and thought I'd share :)

Unbelievable

My baby boy is one month old already! We were in bed yesterday morning and Jack was having 'breakfast' when I realised that it was the 2nd of December. I can't believe how fast it's gone, but at the same time I can't really remember life before my little possum.

Anyway, so I've done my first LO in months and of course baby Jack is the subject. I'm not entirely happy with it but at least I'm getting back in the swing of things
